The children decorated leaves to hang on the Thankful Tree and told of things for which they were thankful.

With a little help, the kids decorated the Christmas Tree. They did a great job.

Ed and I were so happy to have so many of our family and friends join us in celebration of Thanksgiving on Sunday, November 23, at the Whitehurst Lake House. I've attached some of the pictures to share.
The children prepared leaves for the Thankful Tree where they wrote of something for which they were thankful and also decorated the Christmas tree.

Update on Camden's Surgery Today

From Wendy:
"I had promised some people an update...would you post this to the blog?
This is the short form because I am sending from my blackberry.
Camden came through her surgery well. However, the cholesteatoma had returned. Dr. Evans removed it again. She will now require a third surgery to check it again in about 10 months. The concern is that she may have to battle this for some time to come. Dr. Evans decided to wait on doing the prosthesis for her hearing bones until the next surgery in the hopes that they will recover with the cholesteatoma gone again.
Thanks for everyone's well wishes."

Camden's School Project on Flies

Camden wanted to share her learning poster. She did everything except type the text, of course. She cut and glued everything. I just trimmed the edges a bit. She was wondering if you would mind putting it on the blog. This week was the letter, "F." She chose "forest" as her theme and "fly" as her vocabulary word. I know you can't read the "Fun Facts" section on flies, but it was very interesting. We had literally pages of facts, and Camden chose which ones she wanted to include on the poster. Among those she chose were:1. Flies vomit on their food before eating it to soften it. 2. Flies carry 2 million bacteria on their bodies. 3. Flies walk on the ceiling using glue-oozing foot pads.4. Flies carry diseases like typhoid, leprosy, and bubonic plague. 5. There are more insects in one square mile of rural land than there are people on the entire planet. Camden HATES flies and picked out the most disgusting facts she could find. She was quick to observe, however, that flies can find her sucker in her hand outside because they are 10 million times more sensitive to the taste of sugar than humans.

(Camden is the 6 year old daughter of Wendy and Ed Jr)
