Dylan Doing Dishes with his Grandpa

Today is Mary Ann Warren's birthday. Mary Ann is a friend of mine from "DIMON" days in Farmville. This picture is of her grandson Dylan and Don, her husband, doing dishes last night. Dylan was 15 months old on Sunday and just returned from his first Caribbean cruise with his parents. Some of you may know Mary Ann's daugher, Elizabeth, who is a nurse.

Message from Tammy Tetterton Flynn, A Family Friend from Bethel

"Good morning. I wanted to ask you to pray for my cousin, Philip Peedin. We received a call on Sunday morning that he had been “hit by a mortar round” in Bahgdad. They are planning to fly him out to Germany and then on to Walter Reed by the weekend. His injuries are very extensive – injuries to his wrist, legs, shoulder and abdomen. He has multiple shrapnel (sp?) injuries all over his body. Some of his Special Forces Team is supposed to meet with the family this morning with hopefully more information. His mom/dad were able to talk to him yesterday. He told them that he knew that prayer for him was the only thing that had saved him. He heard the mortar round coming but didn’t have time to really take cover or try to get out. Anyway, we would really appreciate your prayers for him and our family. Thanks!"

Iphigenia in Aulis, an ECU Play

Karen, Christopher and I went to a play at ECU today - Iphigenia in Aulis. It was based on the tragedy by Euripides during the Greeks battle with Troy. It was very good and the auditorium was full on a Sunday afternoon. Karen wanted Christopher to see the play, as it is part of his home school curriculum.
